Dr. Sarah Mayanja is an agroecologist with extensive experience in gender-responsive food systems. Dr. Mayanja has led research on gender-responsive breeding, seed systems, postharvest and marketing of roots, tubers and bananas in over 10 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. She has experience working with the private sector in commodity trading, where she championed transaction security models in Western Uganda. She holds a PhD in Agroecology and Food Systems from Uganda Martyrs University.
